Kidzu 

After my first son Jaron was born I was introduced to that modern marvel of youth entertainment, the children’s museum. A good children’s museum is a great experience, and Jaron loved going. The only problem was distance – we always ended up in the car driving to the Greensboro Children’s Museum, almost a full hour away from our home in Chapel Hill.

I was thrilled, then, when the Kidzu Children’s Museum opened for business in 2006 in Chapel Hill. By this time my younger son, David, was turning three and was ready for a kids’ museum, and I got to discover the joy all over again with him.

This song came to me one day last fall and I just had to make it. It really could be about any children’s museum, so if you are not from around Chapel Hill, just substitute your favorite venue (though they won’t all span as neatly as ‘Kidzu’ does!). And if you haven’t taken your children up to Kidzu (or whatever is close to you), then hopefully this song will help you see you are missing out on a great thing!
