Rise And Shine

This song is by the great children’s music songwriter, Raffi. I was introduced to Raffi right after my first son was born, and we spent a lot of time listening to his fantastic records.

I learned this song not from the studio version but rather from the live version on Raffi In Concert. This album was recorded at Raffi’s peak and his performance is sophisticated and masterful. Raffi single-handedly transformed the range and reach of children’s music. He is one of my favorite artists (though now my kids want me to play rock music in the car, not Raffi.), and I love playing this song.

Raffi was also the inspiration for my own children’s music act, Music Time.
